Records Eligibility
To be eligible to set a California South WSO record, an athlete must be a member of the California South Weightlifting State Organization (WSO) at the time the record was set.
California South WSO Records can be set at the following events:
California South WSO Championship
USAW National Events – National Championships, NAO / Virus Series & NAO / Virus Finals
International Events – Pan-American, IWF, and FISU Events recognized by USAW.
Results from USAMW & IMWF are not USAW-sanctioned meets and, as such, are not eligible for records or reimbursement.
The 2026 standard for records, if there is not a record holder yet, is 70% of the national record standard. To claim a record, the existing standard must be exceeded by 1 kg.
