California South WSO Championships

Championships will be held September 26-27, 2026

Entries will be accepted through May 31, 2026. Winning bids will be awarded by June 25, 2026.

Event Expectations

• A 2 Day weightlifting event on Saturday & Sunday

• A capacity of 300 total lifters, competing over 2 Days, 5 sessions per day, simultaneously on 2 competition platforms

• Sufficient square footage (minimum of 5000), parking, and restrooms to accommodate an event of this scale

• Production and organization befitting one of the largest championship weightlifting events in the United States

If selected, hosts are responsible for:

• Setup and breakdown of meet (this may include transportation of equipment/platforms from storage facility/s). Setup will be on Friday afternoon/evening, exact time to be coordinated.

• Final selection of competition venue (WSO will pay all venue-related expenses)

• Providing a well-organized start list from entry info provided in BARS

• Providing a well-organized schedule of competition with appropriate number of athletes per session with given amount of venue space and equipment.

• Organizing and providing an appropriate number of volunteers for each session, including loaders and TOs.

• Providing results to WSO rep and upload to BARS within 7 days of the end of the competition.

If selected, hosts receive:

• 10% of gross registration (example: 300 lifters at $150 = $45,000. The host will receive $4,500 from the California South WSO).

• The California South WSO will work in conjunction with the host and collaborate on all aspects of the competition.

• Reimbursement for approved expenses after filling out the expense report.
